I'm sure you all know how much I adore the Victoria and Albert Museum, so I'm really darn excited to be hosting this giveaway, as a thank-you for being such lovely readers! I'm offering the chance for one reader to recieve a Standard Membership plus guest (worth a total of seventy six pounds), courtesy of the museum! There are so many benefits to being a member, including being invited to attend previews of new galleries and exhibitions before they open to the public, free unlimited entry into the exhibitions, discount in the gift shop and café, use of the private member's room, the chance to attend exclusive events and the beautiful V&A magazine delivered to your door three times a year. I've been a member for two years now, and I can honestly say that it's the best gift my mum has ever bought me, so I was so happy when she recently renewed my membership for a third year as a birthday present! I've also personally bought a few lovely pieces from the gift shop to compliment the membership.
All you have to do to enter is write a little comment mentioning your favourite museum or exhibition, leaving your email address, and I will randomly select a winner on the 7th of August. For an extra entry you can tweet 'I just entered @jazzabellediary's giveaway to win a year's membership to the @v_and_a! http://bit.ly/qL88nd', and leave a separate comment to say you have done so. This giveaway is only open to my followers who live in the United Kingdom (sorry!), but please only enter if you know you will make the most of this membership! Thank-you. Love, Jazzabelle.

ReplyDeleteAh I need to win this! My favourite exhibition was probably the RCA one they had a few years ago, I loved seeing the graduates work and it really inspired me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS GIVEAWAY!
ReplyDeleteI'd say my favourite exhibition would be the Banksy exhibition i saw in Bristol. It was like a massive one cause it is where banksy is from and it was just bloody amazing!!

Funnily enough my favourite exhibition is the first one I ever saw at the V&A - the Grace Kelly: Style Icon exhibition a couple of years ago. Before the exhibition I'd had a vague idea that I wanted to be involved in fashion but standing there in front of such beautiful, hand stitched to the last detail couture dresses I felt that it was the moment I had arrived at a place where I felt so at home with my surroundings; that is, beautiful clothes.

I adored the Grace Kelly exhibition at the V&A last year and my best friend bought me the book as a present for my 21st birthday. So inspiring!

Oh, this looks absolutely amazing! Thanks to you ad your blog, the V&A is the first thing on my list of places to go that I've never actually been to when I move to London in September!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite exibition is ever changing, it's the Saatchi gallery. I love how everything in there is so different and unthought of. My favourite pieces in there have included the entire basement being filled up with oil and a room full of vintage speakers!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Ballet Russes exhibition. It was so inspiring in terms of fashion, art, dance and music. Too much to take in!
ReplyDeletejessicalane07@hotmail.com
I would have to say (truthfully) that the v&a is my favourite museum. I'm just about to move to London and was going to buy a membership anyway, so this would be just peachy!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite exhibition would be either Fashion v Sport from ages ago in 2008 oooooor the more recent Figures and Fictions, contemporary South African photography exhibition. I just can't decide!
Would absolutely LOVE to win more than anything!

What a great giveaway! I won't enter because I live too far away from London to make the most of it.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite museum is The Bowes Museum in County Durham. I recently went to see a Vivienne Westwood shoe exhibition there which was absolutely amazing!
This is probably the coolest giveaway ever (:
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite museum is either the V&A, for just being an incredible place to explore with one of the best gift shops ever; or the thinktank museum in Birmingham which I went to with my grandparents when I was little. It's a more sciencey one; and I remember seeing 3D film before they were really 'a thing'.
Favourite exhibition at the V&A was the one we went primarily which was the Tsars one; really interesting as I was studying the revolution at the time.

I have tweeted as well, but you probably knew that...
ReplyDeleteFantastic competition. I loved the Russian Ballet exhibition a lot but there are so many good ones to choose from. Oh actually one of my favourites is probably the Shadow Puppets, that was AMAZING!!!

ReplyDeleteemma2louise@hotmail.co.uk xxx
My favourite museum has got to be the natural history museum. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeletereshma_mallya@hotmail.com
It would have to be the 'DLA Piper Series: This is Sculpture' at the Tate Liverpool gallery. There's such a great range of sculptures to see and the best part is, there is a light up dance floor (and disco ball!) where you can have a silent disco as well as wonder around the space listening to a playlist of 60s/70s songs, brilliant!
ReplyDeleteejadav@hotmail.co.uk
What an amazing giveaway! My favourite exhibition would probably have been the V&A's 'Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes' but every exhibition at the V&A is beautiful and memorable! conniecclarke@gmail.com xx

ReplyDeleteHey. First time reading your blog, you seem fun so I'll RSS it.
ReplyDeleteAnywhooo, My favourite exhibition this year has been the Bath School of Art & Design Graphic Degree Show.
It's inspirational to see what 3rd years are doing in the country as I'm entering my final year next year. Also great as their work massively incorporated Illustration into Graphic Design, which I'd like to do more.
All the best, tweet you in a bit.
@LukeDesignUK
my favourite show (this year, at least) has been Japan At Home at the Geffyre Museum. incredibly educative and interesting considering my love of everything-Japan!

ReplyDeleteLondon!
ReplyDeleteThe whole metropolis is a living breathing museum and exhibition of architecture, engineering, science, life, and culture.
With one or two actual museums as well ...
The Kylie exhibit at the V&A was a lot of fun, also the James Bond / Ian Flemming one at the Imperial War Museum was really well curated!

ReplyDeleteI've visited all the London musems numerous times and always been tempted to sneak into those exclusive exhibitions for members haha! I WISH i could have seen the Gilbert & George exhibition in 2007 at the tate! Some of their pieces are SHOCKING! I always used to think of 'art' as dainty, finely hand crafted creations, but i just love how they totally go against the generic pretty painted picture in a pop-art xrated way!

Hello, great giveaway, the V&A is fab! Anytime I'm a bit uninspired it's the first place I think of visiting. So for that reason it has to be my favourite. It's inspired the last few years of my artwork (which can be seen on my blog) and the exhibitions are always really enjoyable. Vivienne Westwood, Fashion-ology, Radical Fashion, Shadow Catchers I could go on and on! (I'm looking forward to the moment I can navigate the museum without a map after all of these years!) xx :)

My favourite museum, if it counts as one, is the Tower of London. I just adore the history that seeps from it. I love the stories that the beefeaters tell, never tire of them. My dad used thr threaten to lock me in the tower if I ever misbehaved!

My all time favourite exhibition was the Time Walker exhibition held at the Design Museum a few years ago, it was utterly incredible. The Sally Mann exhibition at the Photographer's gallery last year was also beautiful and the Edward Muybridge exhibition at the Tate Britain was also amazing... I could keep going for quite some time! What a truly lovely giveaway Jaz.
